Cape Verde

"Travel does not become an adventure until you leave
yourself behind"

I spent two weeks under the sun of Cape Verde
with my parents in February 2015.

Cape Verde is in the Atlantic Ocean, about 570km off the Western coast of Africa.
It is a cluster of 10 islands and eight islets.
We visited the one called Sal.

First we flew to Sweden and stayed the night in a hotel. Very early in the morning we had our flight to Sal.
The weather was sunny and warm the whole 2 weeks.
There was not so much to do, but at least we had time for sunbathing.

The residents of the island get their living from tourism and fishing.

Besides fishing, tourism in one of the biggest sources of income,
The ground is dry and infertile, which limits the farming and agriculture.

Best way to get around is renting a car or with a taxi. Both were really cheap options, a taxi around the town was only a few euros.

As I said earlier there was not much to see or do. One full day is enough to see everything there was. Of course my trip was in 2015 and I bet Sal has changed a lot since then.

I need to go back to find out how it has changed!
