Bahamas cruise, Nassau

"I'm happiest when floating in the sea"

In November 2011 I were in Florida with my parents, and we decided to go on a vacation. Even tho we already were on a vacation.

We started our journey from Boynton beach, and we drove to Miami.
It takes about an hour.

When we left, the weather was not so great, but when we took off from Port Miami, the sun came out and shined the rest of the holiday.

The cruise ship was huge.
There were 2 big pools on the sundeck, and 4 hot tubs, climbing wall and a basketball field.

Around the deck there was an upper deck just for sunbathing.

On the ship there was also a casino and a few restaurants and bars.

Nassau port

The capital city of Bahama, Nassau, was small and cute.
Walking around was a little hard, there was a lot of people and the whole place was crowded. We also took a horse carriage ride around the town.

It was a true hippie island.

We spent the day at the island, and in the evening we went back to the ship.
The ship was supposed to go to CocoCay island as well, but the swell of the sea was so wild we could not go ashore.
So we spent the rest couple of days just floating around.

Norway on my mind

"You will never see everything..
But you can try"

We have been in Norway a few times with my family, and we also did a roadtrip with Niko and one of my bestfriends.

When I was a little girl we drove there every summer with a camper.

It is a really long drive. Well I guess it depends on the route you take. But still, it is long.

We used to go to Tornio first, crossed the border to Sweden and spent there a few days.

Here is one of the routes we drove:

Porvoo - Tornio (Finland) - Kalix (Sweden)

Then we drove back to Enontekiö Finland and continued to Kautokeino, Norway. We always stopped in Hammerfest to fish. There are some really amazing fishing places and the water is so clear it's almost like a paradise.

After Hammerfest we would go to Skibotn through Alta and then back to Finland.

Kilpisjärvi - Muonio - Pello - Home

The roadtrip usually takes one to two weeks, and our dogs have always travelled with us. They love the car rides.

Kilpisjärvi

Skibotn

There is so much to see anywhere you look.
I can guarantee, if you like amazing views, you won't get bored.

Tromssa

As I earlier mentioned, Hammerfest is one of the best places to do Fishing! Tromssa is just as good.

When you have the right fishing equipment, you will get fishes with every throw.

You just need to know the effect of the low and rising tide.

Hammerfest

If you are a photographer, or if you just love to take nice pictures, Norway is one place to go if you haven't been there yet.

Experience Crete

Crete

I visited Crete in the beginning of August of 2013, stayed for 9 days. We had a hotel by the beach in the city of Rethymnon.

I truly loved it! The weather, nature, people.. All of it!

During August the weather is perfect. Sunny and calm, temperature is around 20c during nights and closer to 30c during the days.

We rent a car for a few days, and drove around the island and over to the other side.

It was funny how the temperature of the water was a few celcius degrees colder than on the other side, but the air again was warmer.

We drove to the
Samaria Gorge, the wind was hideous.

We also visited Manousakis Winery yard near Chania, from where we drove through Agios Nikolaos back to Rethymnon.

The road through the mountains was terrifying.

For those who are scared of heights (including me) I wouldn't recommend this road.

The road was super narrow with no railings and with warnings of falling rocks.
A lot of goats everywhere, and all you could see from the windows - a very long fall down.

It was totally worth every second being scared.

We found some really beautiful lookouts and swimming places.

We visited a nature park, where we hiked up to the mountains to an aboriginal village.

It was really interesting and good exercise.

And of course we ate tasty food and relaxed in the end of the day watching sunset.

It was kind of sad to go home, there was still so many things to do and see.

Well you gotta leave something for the next time.. Right ?

Back to memories

FLORIDA 2012

I Have been in Florida several times, and I actually just booked flights there again!
I'm going back there on May 2019!
How fun is that!

So for those who may not know, Florida is located in the East side of Northern America.

Usually when we travel to Florida, we have always visited Key West as well.
There is the southernmost point in the continental US.

2012 We were there with my sister and her husband, and we took a half day trip to do kayaking and snorkeling. Of course there was some free time to relax and tan as well.

Later on, we also did parasailing.

Loved every second.

When we got back to Boynton Beach, we ate good food at Golden Corrals Buffet restaurant, and relaxed.

It feels like home.
